Means of access The Island of Tascon is the third largest island in size after the Ile aux Moines and the Ile d'Arz and has a very low population (a working farm and some holiday houses). The island is situated 200m from the mainland, just after the town of Saint Armel, and can be reached by a road which is open for 5 hours during eachlow tide (2 hours before and 3 hours after), i.e. for 10 out of 24 hours.
While the uninitiated dare not venture on to the island, the islanders' life is regulated by the rhythm of the tides, giving them the advantage of links to the mainland without the disadvantages.
