Means of access take the motorway...,By Car
If you are travelling by car, leave the auto route from Toulouse at the FIRST exit for Carcassonne. This brings you onto the ring road. Turn right at the first roundabout after leaving the auotoroute toll booth, follow signs for Centre Ville, Narbonne and “la Cité”. You will then come to a T junction where you turn left at the traffic lights. At the next roundabout turn right and follow signs to “la Cité”and Narbonne. The medieval city will come into view on your left. Carry straight on at next roundabout following signs “la Cite”. After going up a hill, turn left at “la Cité” sign that takes you to the car parks for the medieval city. After passing the entrance to the city follow signs for Centre Ville and turn left into Rue Trivalle – see the map.
By Air
From Carcassonne Airport you can either hire a car or take a taxi. On leaving the airport by car turn left and follow the signs Narbonne and la Cité. This takes you onto the ring road. Follow signs for Narbonne and la Cité. Turn left at la Cité sign that takes you to the car parks for the medieval city. After passing the entrance to the city follow signs for Centre Ville and turn left into Rue Trivalle.
Arriving From Any Other Direction
On arrival at Carcassonne follow the ring road and head for Narbonne and la Cité. Turn left (from Narbonne turn right) at la Cité sign that takes you to the car parks for the medieval city. After passing the entrance to the medieval city follow signs for Centre Ville. and turn left into Rue Trivalle.

100 rue Trivalle is your gateway to Carcassonne and the surrounding area. There are many historical towns within easy driving distance of the house and the coast is only 45 minutes away. To eat out is as simple as A, B C. The nearest restaurant is only one minute’s walk and there are many more within easy walking distance — and you do not have to break the bank to do it!
If you prefer to eat at home you can purchase your food at the Hypermarkets situated in the industrial zones on the outskirts of the city. They are all very good but the quality and prices do vary slightly. Alternatively the general stores, on the left hand side of rue Trivalle walking towards the Bastide, have a very good stock of supplies.
Leisure Activities
There is a lake within 10 minutes drive in very nice surroundings where you can swim, sail, sunbathe and relax. The beach at Narbonne Plage and Grussian is about 50 minutes drive. You can cycle along the Canal du Midi or just visit the many ancient villages, towns and castles in the area.
The Montagne Noir is 15 minutes drive and there are many wonderful wines to taste (degustation)in the surrounding.
