BY CAR; From the A8 motorway take the LE MUY/ ST- TROPEZ exit following signs for Draguignan then the D54
towards Figanieres.
BY TRAIN; LES ARCS station for the TGV. Draguignan is 20km.
BY AEROPLANE; NICE airport is 50 minutes by car/taxi. TOULON airport is 60 minutes by car/taxi.
ACTIVITIES
Small shopping may be done in the village of Figanieres 2km away. There is a chemist, doctor, butcher, balers, 2 small supermarkets and bar.
FIGANIERES is at an altitude of 314m high and 10 km from Draguignan. This small 10th century Provencal village benefits from
a very pure and agreeable climate.
Hidden in the centre of this ancient village, on the site of the Chateau des Comtes de Vintimille is the Scented Garden.
FIGANIERES being situated in the heart of the Var Vert, means easy access to the colourful seductive countryside with its winding unpopulated roads. For example, 45 minutes to the north of this region offers the immense, magnificent canyon of the Gorges du Verdon with its vertiginous panoramic views.
Towards the east is Fayence country with picturesque, Provencal villages perched on the hillsides. To the south there are golf courses and sun-drenched beaches of St-Tropez (40km) and Ste-Maxime, St-Raphael (30km) and the Mediterranean sea with a backdrop of the splendid Massif des Maures.
You will enjoy the Provencal markets , the local restaurants, visits to the vineyards , the bike rides and walks, golf, tennis, and climbing in the canyons of Verdon and Chateaudouble (also: aquatic sports, hiking, canoeing and rafting.....)
You could also consider the Var during winter. The Var in winter offers sunshine where you can have the beaches to yourselves and watch the Mimosa trees flower,and the villagers have time to welcome you away from the busy season. Walks, hikes, markets and Almond trees in blossom... You will never see the soul of the Var so well as then.
